The Administrator for the Federal Highway Administration, Mary Peters, was qick to emphasize that transportation choice is the American Way. " Most urban commuters spend more than sixty hours a year ....sitting in traffic. In the same amount of time, you could take semester of french classes or watch the Godfather trilogy... six times."
