Don't Believe The Amtrak Threat

"Does anyone really think that Congress will let the trains screech to a halt -- and then take the heat when constituents demand to know why they can't get from here to there?...If you believe this last-minute huffing and puffing about Amtrak, you're being taken for a ride...So the administration needs either to bite the proverbial bullet and shut down whole chunks of the system or conclude that subsidizing a passenger rail system is as important as spending money on missile defense."
