Blighted Philly Neighborhood Given A Rebirth

Former residents visit their old neighborhood to see how it changed for the worse before it changes for the better.

Don and Ruth Slutzky returned to the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia when they heard of Mayor Street's $295 million initiative to rebuild the area. The Slutky's moved away in the early 1970s and since then the neighborhood has lost buildings, residents and economic vitality. The couple hopes that the money will be used to help the Strawberry Mansion area bloom with life once more.
