Laurance Frank, a Georgia Tech urban planning professor is heading a new, federally funded study for King County focusing on three suburban neighborhoods: White Center, Kent's East Hill and downtown Redmond. The study is "expected to produce recommendations on what might be done in each to help people get out of their cars and onto their feet... Frank's work in the Seattle area is just one of many studies that confirm the obvious: Suburbanites drive everywhere. But researchers say they still don't know exactly what that means to public health."
