In an unusual move, Richard Neutra’s son has announced plans to license the mid-century modernist’s house plans, reports Adrian Glick Kudler.
With the Neutra Office and California Architecture Conservancy, Dion Neutra will sell plans for, and supervise the construction of, the elder Neutra’s most famous residential designs, including his two unbuilt Case Study Houses.
The upscale brokerage firm The Agency is marketing the licensing program. “Our clients have long coveted and wished to acquire ‘Neutras’ and homes from the Case Study House Program,” a partner at the brokerage explains.
Some of the profits from licensing will go to preservation, though details on that end of the project have yet to be released.
