Since it came into existence in 1934 with the passage of the NationalHousing Act, the Federal Housing Administration has played a major role in the real estate industry. By insuring mortgages and providing the real estate sector access to much needed capital, the FHA stimulatedconstruction activity to "get America moving again", a refrain that has a familiar ring to it. But what does the future hold for the FHA and what about the credit subsidy "problem?"
