"The electric streetcar is common in Europe and popular in San Francisco, Seattle and even Dayton, Ohio ["D.C. Transit May Go Retro," Metro, Jan. 21]. Vancouver and Philadelphia have them too. The cars seem better at moving people on high-density routes than diesel buses, plus they are quiet and don't pollute."
