What Not to Say at a Public Meeting

Unfortunately, many of us have likely suffered a bout of foot-in-mouth syndrome during a past presentation. Edward W. Erfurt IV lists the 10 worst things to say during a public meeting, in the hopes of clearing then from our minds.

"I was recently sharing some war stories with my colleagues, and we started discussing the worst things that you could say during a public meeting you are hosting," says Erfurt. "I can tell you that I have heard all of these during meetings, and all led to a disastrous end." 

He goes on to list 10 unfortunate statements, from "We do not have a budget yet" to "We master planned your entire community in just one day", that are sure to displease stakeholders. Add your own gaffes in the comments section of his post.
