"In an effort to stave off encroaching commercial-style development, council has passed an ordinance extending its central business district three blocks east of Keystone Street to the start of Main Street.Designed to preserve the small-town charm of the borough, the ordinance restricts certain types of development in the central downtown district, including fast-food restaurants, convenience stores and coin-operated laundries. It also puts restrictions on existing businesses wishing to expand."
