'Why Architecture Matters' by Blair Kamin "tackles how architecture shapes the way that we live...Kamin's pieces are worth reading for anyone who loves cities, because he's so good at conveying how individual buildings are parts of a greater whole" Anthony Tung's 'Why Architecture Matters' "doesn't have the easy spark of Kamin's -- the obligatory history of each locale grows repetitious, and the same points are made over and over. Still, there's real value in seeing how different cultures have tried to save remnants of their histories."
