Sustainability issues and solutions are reviewed through a combination of case studies, exercises and presentations by leading experts.
By the end of the course, participants will
• describe characteristics and principles of sustainable community development
• compare and analyze sustainability frameworks
• analyze specific areas such as infrastructure, land use, food, zero waste, green building, energy, and transportation through the lens of a sustainability framework
• apply a systems approach in exploring local and global issues
