San Francisco's best-designed new buildings is raising eyebrows. The city is curiously old-style when it comes to architecture.

But many architects rush to praise what they describe as one of San Francisco's best new buildings... And unusual -- at least in this city, where avant-garde design tends to be tucked down alleys, while larger buildings are wrapped in styles that consciously hark back to older eras."
