Wright's Last Usonian House Could Be Demolished

A prospective buyer of what is possibly Wright's last Usonian house, in Bannockburn, Ill., wants to tear it down.

The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy is on "full alert" to try to save the 42-year-old Allen Friedman house from becoming a teardown. At a town meeting to discuss whether to strengthen the town's landmark preservation ordinance to require preserving the house, four citizens spoke in favor of unrestricted property rights; no one came out to support preservation.
