The March issue of Carfree Times contains the usual world news notes and a feature article, "Peddling the Miracle Cure: Mainstream Eco-Groups Boost Hybrid Cars." Hybrid cars use a combination of gasoline- powered generator and electric propulsion to achieve about 50 MPG. Carfree Times also awards the "Oil Slick Award" to George W. Bush, for "proposing to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for drilling by his friends in the oil industry."
