Rutgers University, Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy

How do you plan for a world with diminishing natural resources? Is your community able and ready to sustain transit oriented development? What are the best ways to connect cultural development and master planning?

You can get the answers to these questions by taking any of our Bloustein Online Continuing Education Program (BOCEP) courses in March. BOCEP offers interactive, high quality and convenient training and development for professionals in planning, community and economic development and public policy. If you've never taken an online course, or have a negative impression of online education, BOCEP will pleasantly surprise you. BOCEP courses are produced by Rutgers University's Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy -- which has one of the best planning programs in the United States.

We have three courses running now through May 5. There are no scheduled meetings, and you can participate in your class at your own convenience from almost any computer with an Internet connection.

*Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is one of the hot topics in smart growth and New Urbanism. Will it Work Here? Analyzing Transit Oriented Development will teach you key metrics and analytical techniques to determine if a community can and should adopt TOD. The class started on March 21, but you can still register through March 30.

*A lot of communities want to have more arts and culture. But how do you integrate this sector into your master plans? Learn how with Connecting Cultural and Master Planning. The course is taught by one of the nation's leading experts in arts-based development – Louise Stevens of ArtsMarket Inc. This course runs from March 28 through May 5.

*Introduction to Energy Planning is for those who want to address global warming and other impending environmental crises through planning – but aren't sure where to start. This course runs from March 28 through May 5.
