Request for Qualifications - 29H250 Intersections Study - Updated
Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission
[Please see addendum 1 at the bottom of the announcement added 9/18/03 as a result of expected impacts from Hurricane Isabel.]
The US-29 corridor is a major thoroughfare running through Charlottesville, Virginia. Improvements to intersections along the corridor in the urban area have long been discussed, and are a high local priority. There are several developments either currently under or being proposed for construction near the study area. A comprehensive design approach could develop better solutions than looking at each project's impacts and concerns individually.
The study for the area around US-29-Hydraulic-US-250 Bypass Intersections (29H250) will be conducted by an inter-agency team from City, County, TJPDC, and VDOT. Additional expertise is required in workshop facilitation, traffic engineering, urban design, multi-modal design, economic impact and development analysis, environmental planning, and construction feasibility and phasing. Separate submittals are requested for the Economic Analysis portions of the Scope. Proposed facilitators should have demonstrated experience in creating a neutral, productive working environment for similar efforts.
The Project Management Team reserves the right to award the contract to one team or divide the work into separate coordinated contracts. In either case, the Economic Analysis tasks will be awarded as a separate contract. The Full RFQ, Project Scope, Mission and End State, and Phase 1 29H250 report are available at www.tjpdc.org , or by calling (434) 979-7310.
One signed original and six photocopies of the Qualification Statement should be delivered no later than 5:00pm, Monday, September 29, 2003 to:
