This series of reports, produced to coincide with the start of the newCongress and the new administration, provides an overview of majormanagement challenges and program risks facing the government as a wholeas well as those facing 21 major departments and agencies. A separatereport updates list of government programs and activities considered athigh risk for waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement, first issued in1990. Reports are provided from both Department of Housing and Urban Development (GAO-01-248), Department of Transportation (GAO-01-253), and Department of the Interior (GAO-01-249).
