Congressman Tom Davis (R-VA) is using his position in the Federal Government to fight a proposed TOD near his Northern Virginia home.
Congressman Thomas M. Davis III has promised to defy local officials and intervene in a local land use issue by proposing legislation to scale back a development planned next to the Vienna Metro station, a project near the neighborhood he has lived in since 2004. The Northern Virginia Republican announced that he would amend a Metro funding bill to block the sale or lease of 3.2 acres of land the agency owns that is adjacent to the Orange Line station in Fairfax County, on which a developer plans to build three 12-story residential and office buildings as part of the Fairlee-MetroWest transit oriented development.
