A survey of Long Islanders reveals shared concerns about the effects of rising housing costs but less agreement about how to approach solutions.

When linked to a perceived 'brain drain', a second annual survey shows increased concern across the board about the effects of rising housing costs on Long Island. But opinions diverge when hypothetical policy changes become more specific and hit closer to home.And in practice, Long Islanders seem willing to spend more money and potentially drive hosing costs even higher in order to keep development away.
