"Some people in the county have expressed concern over not having a community development director, considering the drafting of the Comprehensive Plan as well as the current rezoning of the downtown area.

...Mortillaro said the county was close to having a community development director ... and had whittled down the list of applicants to two. 'They declined the offer and said they weren't interested any more,' he said."
