A proposed Disney-backed “attainable housing” development in Florida received a key stormwater and drainage permit from the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), moving the project one step closer to completion. “Currently, the permit states that a portion of the site is an existing rapid infiltration basin and a portion is a wooded area.”

As Emma Kenner explains in AllEars, “The total permit acres were roughly 103.38 acres, and the permit also details that this community will include a 1,369-unit multifamily development and supporting infrastructure.” The project is located on 80 acres of land owned by Disney.

According to Kenner, almost 1,000 of the units are set aside as affordable housing.
