For some cities, the wait for permits is over. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, in conjunction with AMS, now features an online method of applying for air general permits on its Web site. The site allows users to search through the 400,000 homes in its Residential Property Analyzer for characteristics such as school district, assessed value and number of bathrooms.
