Despite a cost of $1.2 billion, plans for the new Jets Stadium on Manhattan's West Side are going forward. In this editorial, the local state assemblyman rails against the financing of the building, which would cost taxpayers $600 million directly and up to $1 billion in Metro improvements, as well as the proposal’s planning itself. In terms of site choice, Gottfried argues the riverfront property alone could be worth $2 billion in revenue for much-needed essential services.
