Solar power and cheap electricity are becoming available to those who need it most.
GRID Alternatives, a San Francisco-based alternative-energy nonprofit organization, is working to make solar power cheap and easy instead of an environmental luxury like organic fruit. GRID just celebrated the launch of its Solar Affordable Housing Program , a program aimed at helping "low-income homeowners finesse the purchase and installation of a photovoltaic solar-power electric system and implement energy-efficient measures." The ambitious organization, which even offers job training, is brinign affordable electricity to those who need it most. But is home-based solar power a good investment? GRID says yes.
