A new analysis reveals how annual transportation costs compare around the country.
An article by Jordan Rosenfeld in Yahoo! Finance lists transportation costs and overall cost of living for the top 50 metropolitan areas in the United States.
Washington, D.C. takes the top spot, with an average transportation cost per year of $12,232. San Francisco comes in second at $11,272. At the bottom of the list, Louisville, Kentucky has a relatively low transportation cost at $6,279 per year while El Paso, Texas comes in at $5,821 per year.
According to Rosenfeld, “To find out what people are paying to get where they need to go in America’s 50 biggest cities, GOBankingRates analyzed data from the U.S. Census American Community Survey and the Bureau of Labor Statistics 2022 Consumer Expenditure Survey.”
