New Commercial buildings in Sarasota County can be similar to structures built else where in the U.S., but can only be reproduced one time within the County.

"..the proposed updates include standards for outdoor lighting, landscape buffering, pedestrian access, traffic flow, mixed-use development standards, new types of housing and new cluster subdivision options, besides removing outdated provisions. Other provisions regulate the height of signs and enact waterfront setbacks and height limitations to preserve waterfront views...The newly revised zoning code...will eventually be available online, with links that let users access sections without thumbing through the entire document."
