While the nation's cities try to develop successful strategies for growth, rural America is finding hundreds of inventive ways to add to its appeal.
Two of rural America's most successful entrepreneurs and policy shapers are Jim Sayer and June Holley. Jim Sayer is president of the Sierra Business Council. Its work in the Sierra Nevada region is transforming the way business and civic leaders approach community development. June Holley is President and founder of the Appalachian Center for Economic Networks or ACEnet. Her work in Southeastern Ohio is turning that economy into a surprisingly energetic entrepreneurial engine. Smart City Radio Host Carol Coletta will interview Jim Sayer and June Holley about their rural communities and what all of us can learn from their experience on the next Smart City.
