3 States Sue EPA Over Global Warming

Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Maine sue the EPA, arguing that the Clean Air Act requires the EPA to regulate carbon dioxide.

"Yesterday's lawsuit is the first filed by a state against the federal government over global warming issues, according to James R. Milkey, an attorney on the lawsuit for Massachusetts Attorney General Thomas F. Reilly... 'The administration's do-nothing policy is simply unacceptable,' Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said. 'They have acknowledged how damaging these pollutants are, and yet have failed to classify them under the Clean Air Act.'"
