Hudson County, New Jersey is exploring a proposal to build 700 homes on county-owned parking lots, reports Mike Hayes in Gothamist. "If the plan is approved by Jersey City officials, the 'County Plaza' project would make Hudson County the first in the state to pursue an affordable housing project on county owned land, with a hope it can serve as a model for other parts of New Jersey."

The proposed design from Studio V architecture firm includes retail and open space. The developers plan to submit a redevelopment plan to city officials this fall.
