A video by MarketWatch presents all the background and facts on Community Land Trusts (CLTSs)—a tool used by communities around the country to help keep housing costs down.

The video runs through the market realities that have created the need for tools like CLTs (i.e., high housing costs and low ownership rates), how CLTs work (the key to the affordable housing math is a ground lease), and statistics on the presence of CLTs around the country (225 CLTs around the country that have created around 15,000 affordable houses across the country). The video also lays out the benefits for the CLT model for homeowners.
