Draft ordinance regulating urban design in Seattle's Uptown would mean big changes for the neighborhood’s affordable housing requirements.

Seattle is contemplating changes to its zoning regulations that would include changes to its affordable housing regulations, and open space. "The rezones and new development regulations would be subject to mandatory affordability housing requirements," Stephen Fesler reports for The Urbanist.
The legislation would also include maximum and minimum density requirements and set parameters regarding floor area ratio (FAR). If the city council were to approve the regulations, "Minimum density requirements would apply to any development action that proposes to add or remove more than 1,000 square feet of gross floor area," Fesler writes.
