Under the general direction of the Deputy Division Chief, California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Headquarters Division of Transportation Planning (DOTP), the Senior Transportation Planner position acts as a technical expert performing complex and mission critical housing and transportation work, acting as the DOTP subject matter expert for housing and transportation work. The position also leads resiliency planning work for DOTP.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Senior Transportation Planner Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g. transfer, permissive reinstatement or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
