The City of Norco is currently recruiting Interns for various departments within the City. The ideal candidate must be a current college student or recent graduate with a minimum 2.5 GPA with a desire to provide public services to the Norco community while learning the various aspects of city operations and services.
Education: Current college student or recent graduate maintaining a 2.5 GPA from an accredited college/university.
Knowledge: Knowledge of problem solving skills, public relations and customer service methods and techniques both in person and over the telephone. Proficient understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Ability: Skill in researching, analyzing and interpreting data and written information. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions while working on independent projects and assignments. Skill in oral and written communications, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
Hours are flexible; Norco City Hall is open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday, closed on Friday. Interns are required to commit up to 20 hours per week.
- Hourly rate: $15-$25/hour depending on demonstrated skills, experience and education.
- Interns are eligible for Sick Leave Pay in compliance with the Healthy Workplaces/Healthy Families Act of 2014.
- The City does not participate in Social Security, in lieu of social security, Interns will contribute 5% of pay and the City contributes 2.5% of pay into an Internal Revenue Code Section 457 Deferred Compensation Plan.
