How a Montreal university has embraced the city around it.
Maisonneuve urban affairs columnist Christopher DeWolf looks at Concordia University, a large university with 31,000 students concentrated mostly in a downtown campus. Unlike traditional university campuses, he writes, which turn their back from the community in more ways than one, Concordia has embraced its downtown setting. An ambitious new plan hopes to make the bonds between the university and its surroundings even stronger.
