She has explored these interrelated subjects through various lenses: as a public policy researcher, academic editor, documentary filmmaker and more recently as a narrative storyteller. Before becoming a freelancer, she was the Research Director at MapLight.org. She holds a Masters degree in Economics from The New School and a Bachelors degree in International Relations from American University.
