A million-dollar project will restore Frederick Law Olmsted's parkway system in Buffalo, NY,
"Frederick Law Olmsted would be so pleased... Much of the landscape architect's elaborately designed parks and parkway system has been damaged in the name of efficiency over the decades. But two of his signature street improvements are now being restored with $1 million in federal, city, county and private money... Neighborhood residents and historic restoration advocates say they consider the new capital project to be one of the most significant street restorations the city has undertaken in years. Buffalo is one of only a handful of cities to have an Olmsted parkway system substantially intact."
