Registration is now open for the 4th Safe Routes to School National Conference, to be held August 13-15, 2013 in Sacramento, CA. Early-bird registration fees will available through June 28. The conference registration deadline is July 23. Register now at www.SafeRoutesConference.org.

The conference program will include nearly 60 plenaries, breakouts, implementation workshops, and MindMixer sessions. It will focus on SRTS case studies and best practices from around the country; innovative funding strategies and successful partnerships; addressing SRTS needs in disadvantaged communities; exciting new technologies and tools; proven engagement strategies and messaging; implementable local, regional and statewide SRTS policies; SRTS in rural communities; safety and enforcement; evaluating SRTS; engaging youth (with presentations by dynamic youth leaders); and much more!

Optional Events

The Safe Routes to School National Partnership’s FREE annual meeting is Monday, August 12 from 1:00-5:00 pm, followed by a Safe Routes Social. This half-day event includes an update on the National Partnership’s work and plans for the future, a federal update, and popular breakout groups. Sign up for this free meeting when you register for the conference.

California Advocacy Day for SRTS, Pedestrian and Bike Funds — Organized by the Safe Routes to School National Partnership and Transform, California residents can make their voices heard at the state capital by participating in an Advocacy Day after the conference. Mid-August is the perfect time to make an impact, when all bills that will be headed to the Governor’s desk must pass out of the Legislature by mid-September. Advocacy Day will conclude by 5 p.m. Sign up to participate when you register for the conference.
