The radio show starts off with a 1962 recording of Jane Jacobs, then discusses urbanism, planning and Sim City. Also featured is a tribute to Samuel Mockbee. Karrie Jacobs, the editor of the design magazine Dwell, talk about the the remarkable architect and teacher Samuel Mockbee, who died in late December after a long battle with leukemia. Mockbee was founder of The Rural Studio at Auburn University, which makes extraordinary, comfortable homes out of 'junk'.
