The Columbia River Gorge Commission has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a Washington state Court of Appeals decision that could threaten regional planning in the bi-state Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. " The Columbia River Gorge Commission has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a Washington appeals court ruling that could force it to apply one set of land-use rules on the Washington side of the national scenic area and another on the Oregon side."The Gorge Commission filed an appeal on Wednesday, Jan. 2 with the nation's highest court, asking for a reversal of a January 2001 ruling by the Washington Court of Appeals. The case is Skamania County v. Woodall, 104 Wash. App. 525, 16 P.3d 701 (2001).
