The AIA Los Angeles Design Conference is the official educational conference of the American Institute of Architects Los Angeles (AIA|LA). The conference is a two-day event featuring symposia on current topics relevant to the architecture and design community, along with the Restaurant Design Awards Ceremony. The AIA|LA Design Conference allows attendees the opportunity to earn continuing education units as well as network without having to travel outside of Los Angeles.

1-Day Pass (Fri or Sat): $200 AIA Members / $300 Non-Members
2-Day Pass (Fri + Sat): $300 AIA Members / $400 Non-Members

DESIGN PERFORMANCE

For 2012, AIA|LA has programmed its annual Design Conference to recalibrate an architect's understanding of the potential for place and practice emerging from dramatic changes in technology and culture within a slowly recuperating economy. It is one thing for the profession to aspire to enhance social, cultural and economic value and another to take advantage of new tools, strategies and opportunities to achieve it. This symposium opens up discussion on how we can accelerate how that might be done.

The two day session is organized as a series of moderated interactive panels and presentations representing various point of view and experience. Day 1 sets the context by introducing key changes affecting both the physical context and approach to practice and Day 2 looks at implementing innovation - from policy to new forms of architectural practice.
