Analysis of the Environmental Impact Statement of the West Eugene Parkway project in Oregon warns of the environmental impacts of the project.
"The West Eugene Parkway will bulldoze a 100-yard-wide swath through rare West Eugene wetlands and parklands, according to the project's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).WEP will dump 1.2 million cubic yards of fill, enough to bury a football field 220 yards deep. About 50 acres of wetlands would be directly destroyed, adding to the 99 percent of this ecosystem already lost in the Willamette Valley."
