A visionary plan to transform one of Britain?s most maligned towns with a car-free centre boasting piazzas, promenades and pavement cafés is about to leave the drawing board. The policy is to allow people once again to live close to where they work and to halt the inexorable urban sprawl into the countryside... But the biggest hurdle facing Milton Keynes planners is to wean motorists from their dependency on the car."
