More Continuing Education Credits for More Professions Available at the 2012 New Partners for Smart Growth Conference!

This year's engaging pre-conference events, exciting tours of model projects and in-conference networking forums make this "more than a conference." And the conference program itself has more than 100 diverse, cutting-edge sessions spanning three full days.
Sign up NOW: Register online before the January 13 deadline. The special $133 room rate at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina is only available until January 11.
On Track: The 2012 conference will offer sessions for 15 different thematic categories, covering transportation, housing, public health, water resources and coastal areas, climate change and energy, finance, equitable development, infrastructure and redevelopment, jobs and the green economy, schools, land preservation, communication tools, community partnerships, a focus on small cities and rural areas, and a full spectrum of smart-growth implementation strategies. The 13 tours of local model projects will also draw a multidisciplinary crowd.
Make Friends, Get Credit: While the breadth of the conference program and the quality of the speakers get high marks from participants every year, the number one reason why participants flock to this national conference year after year is to network with their peers and many others outside their disciplines in a truly dynamic and inspirational learning environment. And with all of the smart-growth tracks included in the program, you can get an intensive learning experience on a topic that's of particular interest to you and your professional work.
This year, there's an added, practical bonus – we've expanded the accreditation opportunities for more professional disciplines. As always, the conference will provide credits for AICP planners – 75 of the 104 sessions have already been accredited, and we anticipate that nearly all of the sessions will be approved for AICP credit before the Holidays arrive.
Now at the San Diego event, whether you're a planner, architect, landscape architect or attorney, you can probably get continuing education credits during at least nine different time slots at the three-day forum – on top of meeting old friends and making new ones.
Three-quarters of the sessions have already been accredited for landscape architects through the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES). Several more sessions will likely be approved later this week. In addition to accredited sessions directly related to the practice of landscape architecture, New Partners for Smart Growth will offer landscape architects continuing education credit on a wide range of topics pertaining to public health, safety and welfare (HSW) – not to mention the invaluable chance to share innovative ideas and illuminating success stories with leading experts and local practitioners in those fields.
The conference will also provide credits for architects. We expect close to 50% of the sessions on the program to be accredited by the AIA.
Smart growth is for lawyers too! New to the New Partners conference this year is the inclusion of accreditation of sessions for attorneys. We anticipate that one-third of the conference program will be accredited for attorneys through MCLE.
Check the conference website now to see what has already been accredited, and check back in the coming weeks for details about which additional sessions have been accredited for each professional discipline. Updates will be added regularly to the online program and session descriptions as credits for specific sessions are approved.
