LGC will once again offer attendees at the 2012 New Partners for Smart Growth conference in San Diego the opportunity to do some in-depth exploring with walkability guru Dan Burden, LGC Associate Director Paul Zykofsky, and local volunteers from Walk San Diego and the San Diego Association of Governments.

This 3-day pre-conference tour will combine travel by walking, trolley and coach bus to explore San Diego and region. We will visit San Diego's downtown classic neighborhoods, new neighborhoods, and suburban downtowns. Each stop will be an opportunity to learn how a wide range of Smart Growth strategies are being implemented in communities of all sizes and shapes in this vibrant region.

The tour starts at 9:00 am on Monday, January 30 at the Hampton Inn Hotel in San Diego's Little Italy neighborhood and ends at the San Diego Sheraton Hotel & Marina (venue for the New Partners for Smart Growth conference) on Wednesday, February 1 around 8:30pm.

Cost: $535 (double occupancy) or $720 (single occupancy) includes 3 nights of hotel from Sunday, January 29 to Wednesday, February 1, 2012. If you are arriving in San Diego on Monday morning by 11am and only need a hotel room for Monday and Tuesday nights the cost of the tour is $465 (double) or $590 (single).
