Biking and walking fall to sprawl as growth isolates schools from homes.

Sprawl in America has now led to isolated, mall-sized schools that are isolated from the very children they serve. It seems to be a trade off though as parents would rather chauffeur their children to an uncrowded school then have the children walk to a crowded school. "Across Florida, and the nation, growth and public policies promote megaschool sprawl on the fringes of suburbia at the cost of small neighborhood schools states a report by the National Trust for Historic Preservation."
