"Some want the towers rebuilt as an act of defiance. Several New York City officials have said precisely this. So has architect Henry Guthard, who worked on the buildings. 'If the building is not replaced by a building very much like it, the failure to do so would be a monument to terrorism,' Mr. Guthard said. Others would like to see something different, a group of smaller buildings, perhaps, that relate to the surrounding neighborhood as well as to Wall Street. Or to have nothing at all, a void commemorating the events of Sept. 11, 2001."
