"The fight now in full spate between rival Seattle environmentalists is worth examining, not for the personal animosities involved but for the larger issues that cloud the arguments of species and water protection... You can feel the dismemberment of a region everywhere. I think it has to do with greater density after years of growth management. No one can support the idea of growth-management boundaries, as I do, without wondering about the aftershocks of containing so much growth in such a short time."
