The city's Group Plan Commission has a plan it thinks could revitalize the struggling city.
The plan recommendations includes a greener, more pedestrian-friendly Public Square, a new convention center, a pedestrian bridge, and a remodeled Downtown Mall. The commission wants to turn focus to long-ignored civic space in Cleveland, something it thinks could attract people to the city.
Steven Litt writes:
"The Group Plan Commission considered ways to connect Public Square and the Mall to each other, and to the city's lakefront, the Warehouse District, PlayhouseSquare, the Avenue District on East 12th Street, and the city's financial spine along East Ninth Street."
