"The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is footing the cost of the $2.5 million demolition project. Meanwhile, the housing authority earlier this month submitted an application requesting $35 million to help rebuild Cambridge Plaza and nearby sites. If the money is awarded, as many as 700 new mixed-income units could be built in the neighborhood."
