Rutgers University Professional Development Institute

The Bloustein Online Continuing Education Program helps you build skills and knowledge to enhance your practice and build your career. From March 10 to April 17, we are offering three Deep Learning courses:

* Economic Development Analysis. Economic development is on everyone's minds these days. How skillful are you in this area? This course explores the key skill sets needed to be successful in what is probably going to be the most in-demand area of planning over the next few years. The course is taught by an urban development director for a prestigious planning organization.

*Law and Sustainability Studio. One of the best ways to support sustainable design and planning is to implement them through land use regulations. In this studio course, you can learn to prepare a sample regulation under the guidance of a practicing land use lawyer and professor who specializes in Smart Growth.

*Professional's Writing Studio. What helped Jane Jacobs, Frederick Law Olmsted and Andres Duany stand out over others with equally good ideas? Their writing skills. If you want to be more persuasive – with communities, co-workers, supervisors or elected officials – this course can help. The course is taught by a longtime consultant who has directed staff at every level.
